Prodigy Pianist, Jenny Luo

Bach, Liszt, Paderewski, Gershwin, Lecuona

This concert is sponsored by Lanty McCartney

13-year-old 8th grade piano prodigy student Jenny Luo from Austin, Texas will perform in the Stanley Concert Hall with an appearance by prodigy guest artist Nancy Sang.

Jenny Luo has studied with Julia Amada Kruger for the past 4 ½ years. During this time Jenny has competed across the United States and Europe winning many National/International First Place awards. Too numerous to list, among the most prestigious are: 5 First Place Wins, 8 Second Place Wins, 2 Third Place Wins and 4 Fourth Place Wins. Jenny has also been named a multiple “International First Place Winner” (CO) in the United States International Duo Competition from 2005 to 2010. In May 2006, Ms. Luo was named a “First Place International Winner” in the Buono/Bradshaw International Piano Competition in New York City and performed in Carnegie Hall. Jenny was also awarded a “Gold Medal Scholarship” at the United States Open Music Competition with her duet partner, Helen Nebeker, whom many may remember as performing with the Music Festival at the Stanley Hotel in 2008.

In the summer of 2009, Jenny was accepted to study and perform at the new International Performance Festival in Italy, “Resonant Thoughts”. She studied with Professor Victor Bunin from Moscow and Julia Amada Kruger where she performed over 13 concerts for the cities of Cepina and Bormio, Italy. Lanty McCartney said that “ having been privileged to hear Jenny play the piano, over the course of two weeks, last summer in Bormio, Italy, I am pleased and proud to be sponsoring her concert at the Stanley Hotel. I would greatly recommend those of you who can attend to come and be amazed by this young performer who at such a young age has achieved so much in the world of music. She is not only a delight as an artist but a wonderful young lady who will enrich the world we live in by her presence”.

Experience the extraordinary talent of 13 year old prodigy Jenny Luo as she performs a program of Bach, Paderewski and Liszt among others, and cheer on Jenny and Nancy as they move the crowd with Gershwin’s I’ve Got Rhythm”! This is one concert you won’t want to miss!

The March 14 concert features Barbara Barber’s Student Recital. The Bonnie Lowdermilk concert that was canceled due to weather concerns will be rescheduled to a later date.

Special event! The Estes Park Music Festival is pleased to announce the return of the Colorado Children’s Chorale in May. Watch for details as they progress. This concert will be held at the Estes Park High School Auditorium.

The Stanley Hotel extends a 15% discount toward lunch or dinner to all Music Festival attendees on the day of the concert.
