Road and Trail Races in Estes Park, CO

Apart from all the fun activities you can do in Estes Park, we can draw your attention to several different races. You can sign up by yourself or include your family in the fun. To help you get in shape and with the training for the races one of the Clubs – the Estes Park running Club sponsors free 5K runs every Tuesday at 17.30. So, here is a short list of the races from January to December:

  • Elkhorn Dash Fun Run -1 mile – June 10th
  • Estes Park Marathon & Half Marathon – June 17-18th – the most scenic race voted by the Vacation race, it follows the boundary of the Rocky Mountains National Park. There are race distances for the entire family and for everybody’s abilities – 5k, 10k, half and full marathon plus a five person fundraiser relay.

  • Running of the Bulls – 3.75 mile run/walk and free one mile kids run– around 15-30 September – dogs and strollers friendly race
  • Estes Trail Ascent Race – 6miles – end of September /early October – yet another fun but challenging rance that has elevation gain of over 1800’
  • Rut Run 5K – end of September – absolutely spectacular run during the most colorful season. Grab your comfortable sports outfit and join the fun
  • Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk – November 23rd
  • Dasher 5K Fun Run + 400m dash for the kids – early December – most suitable clothing is your best holiday outfit. Get you smile on and join the race. Kids who cannot do the whole 5k can join the mini version with 400meter race just for them
