With songs rooted in the Celtic tradition and for the folk music lover in search of something truly unique, acclaimed Celtic duo Margot Krimmel and Beth Leachman-Gadbaw will perform their annual holiday concert "Songs of Joy and Peace."

Krimmel is a former harp champion at the Estes Park Scottish Highland Festival and a regular performer and teacher at the Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp. Leachman-Gadbaw was a Fulbright scholar in 2007 and has garnered rave reviews internationally as lead singer of Boston-based traditional band Siucra, and locally with celt-eclectic trio Parting Glass. Krimmel and Leachman-Gadbaw have graced stages throughout Colorado and the west, as well as in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Dirty Linen Magazine described Leachman-Gadbaw’s vocals as "passionate and self-assured…" while the Vail Daily called Krimmel’s playing “sparkling with energy."

Songs of Joy and Peace features songs Krimmel and Leachman-Gadbaw have recorded on Icy December, a compilation of original and traditional holiday music in the Celtic style. The dance-like drinking song Wassail assures the listener that this is no ordinary harp and vocal CD .This recording is full of unexpected arrangements- intricate harmonies; percussive, gutsy harp parts; savory, almost melodic bodhran playing, and luminous vocals. Even old favorites like The First Noel are surprising; Krimmel and Leachman-Gadbaw carefully craft each arrangement, creating a musical timelessness that is fresh and familiar all at once. Onstage, Krimmel and Leachman-Gadbaw shine with exuberance and artfulness. They welcome audience singalongs and allow for quiet reflection, providing a well-rounded musical experience for every audience and a musical style that is uniquely their own. It promises to be an especially festive performance to end the year. There will be no concerts on Christmas or New Years. The Winter Series begins again on January 8, 2012 with Julia Kruger and Victor Bunin on duo pianos with guest appearance by renowned Italian flutist "Mario."
